Ryan Davis - Bass, Vocals

Ryan anchors the band with his great bass playing and inspired and prolific writing.
The core of Moossa is the tandem of Ryan Davis and guitarist Jim Fabricatore and the
experience that they bring to the table from shared projects such as the funk group
Relish, the blues band Snaggletooth and various other fine acts. In Moossa, Ryan has
finally found the perfect vehicle for his creative talent.

Ryan was introduced to Moose in the late spring of 2001 but was already familiar with
some of John's compositions having played them in the streets of the of New Orlean's
with Jim in 2000. It was in the French Quarters of New Orleans that Ryan first began
writing music and has quickly become preoccupied with the creation of music. In a
recent interview Davis declared that the band's constant creation of original material
and smooth melding of personalities has combined to make the four a cohesive,
dedicated, and driven team; "...we are in it for the long haul. Anything that rises too fast
will come down in like fashion...you have got to love the music first and foremost."

Ryan's musical influences are many and have changed through the years. He realized
his affinity for funk with his early discoveries of the James Brown and the Bootsy style
as well as bands like the Funky Meters. He has recently been listening to a lot of
Muddy Waters, some early Rolling Stones, and the Velvet Underground, as well as his
his usual dose of female jazz vocalists.
